Talkin’ bout the telephone… Our top tips for taking your teleconferences up a notch!

Take your teleconference to the next level

These days most organisations still use the good ol’ telephone as a key communication tool for obvious reasons – it’s reliable and it works!  It should then come as no surprise thatteleconferencing is still the number one choice for many organisations when it comes to boardroom meetings, training and brainstorming sessions.

While a conference call is considered simple and easy to use there’s always room for improvement and it’s never too late to take it up a notch! Here are some tips to ensure your next teleconference is seamless and a hassle free experience for all involved!

Shhhhh! I’m speaking!

Presenter Mode is perfect for when you are speaking to a large audience. It automatically places your participants on mute so that the only sound everyone can hear is your charming voice – now that’s control!

Much more than just a number…

Impress your finance team by using a matter number/billing code feature to organise your calls! This feature allows you to enter a number of your choice which will then be assigned to each call you make. Its perfect way to allocate spending at the end of the month!

Because support is thicker than water…

Having 24/7 customer support during your teleconference is essential – we’ve all heard of Murphy’s Law!  Ensure there is a toll free number or command available to you and your participants that will allow you to connect with a support team whenever an issue arises. Oh, and don’t forget to include the number on your invitation!

Record and Replay!

It’s usually good practice to ensure that all the amazing ideas discussed during yourteleconference are recorded and made available at a later date. There’s nothing worse than forgetting vital ‘spare of the moment’ information that has sprung from your conference call. And… you can always send the recording to those who were unable to join the conference call – win win!

Talk or Tone?

Decide on how you will be notified when people join your conference call. Do you want a beep tone to alert you? Or do you want to make it mandatory that participants say their name upon entering and exiting the call? Either way, the choice is yours! A little tip – always consider the size of your conference to avoid distractions!
