How to avoid being ‘that’ person!

Controlling Your Conference Calls

 

Seamless conference calls = happiness all around and productivity!

Not so seamless conference calls = eye rolls, grunts, shoulder shrugs and a reputation of being ‘that person’ – that person who “wasted 30 minutes of my time that I will never get back.”

Who wants to be THAT person?

Hosting seamless teleconference calls doesn’t have to be hard. As a moderator you have access to a range of commands that will help you control noisy lines, dial in those who are late and a whole lot more!

 

How to deal with those noisy backgrounds
*5 – Enter this command to mute all Participant lines. They can hear your voice but will not be able to speak. Enter this command again to place your conference on Conversation Mode and open all lines. Alternatively, participants can enter *6 to mute their own lines.

 

How to deal with those who are always late
*1 – Enter this command to dial your participants into your call. Moderator Dial-outs can be achieved in 5 easy steps!

  • Press *1 to activate
  • Press *1 again to confirm
  • Enter your Participant Pass Code
  • Enter your Participants phone number
  • Press #2 to return to your Teleconference with your Participant or #3 to return to your Teleconference without your Participant

 

How to deal with those who are unable to make it
*4 – Enter this command to begin recording your Teleconference, then press *1 to confirm. An announcement will then advise all attendees that your conference is being recorded. To end the recording press *4 again or simply hang up. Your recording will automatically be posted in your Account Management Portal by the next business day

 

How to deal with extra security requirements
*7 – 
Enter this command to lock your Teleconference and prevent anyone else from joining. Enter this command again to unlock your conference.

 

How to deal with extra billing requirements
*91 – Enter this command to assign any numerical reference code relevant to your call. Your Call Detail Record will then record all expenditures associated with that code. This command also allows you to confirm, change or delete your current reference code.
